Nepal Tea is ready for the holiday season!

It took us a month of preparation, getting a dozen sample of boxes and packages, some days of research, some hair plucking moments.    We are excited for the holiday season. We are, however, not dressing up as Santa, nor are we going to give out turkey-flavored teas this Thanksgiving - it would be super weird and gross.   This holiday, we are giving you the chance to buy our teas, in a new package! The Making of Nepal Tea LLC

Nepal Tea LLC, the brainchild of Nishchal Banskota was established in March of 2016. However, for our complete story we have to step 6 years back in time to 2010. Nishchal Banskota, freshly graduated from high school in Nepal wanted to become a CPA and was weighing his options to pursue his higher education in the US. He had started his application process and while applying, his major concern was weather to pick a state school, a university or a liberal arts college. He finally started his college in 2011 at Colby-Sawyer College, a small Liberal Arts college in New Hampshire. This is the Story of Our Story - 32 years in the making.

A 15-year-old boy visited Darjeeling and was delighted by the serenity he found amidst the beautiful tea gardens that blanketed the Darjeeling hills. While walking through the lush plantation, he began pondering upon the tea laborers’ high standard of living and started drawing parallels with people of his own village who were struggling to meet even the basic requisites of life. And when he returned to Phidim (a small village in Eastern Nepal), he brought back a vision to establish a tea factory to uplift the living conditions of his village.  This boy was Mr. Deepak Prakash Baskota who successfully established the Kanchanjangha Tea Estate (KTE) which is now 32 years old.
