I love this tea, such a high quality product that provides living wage and education for tea farmers and their families in eastern Nepal.
Before this tea, I wasn't the biggest fan of white tip tea. It's expensive for tea that usually tastes okay. This one blew me away. It is my white tip tea of choice and I love it so much. It's definitely worth the price.
I backed a kickstarter project from this company and this tea is amazing. I like the gentle and mellow taste of it. It doesn't have any noticeable scent.
Well, not the yeti animal of legend, but the legendary Silver-Yeti tea. Thanks to the care and help provided by Nishchal Banskota and his team at Nepal Tea, Nepalese tea growers are being encouraged to provide truly high quality teas and, so far, the Silver-Yeti is my favorite. Anyone checking out this web site probably already knows and enjoys fine tea and we should all be properly appreciative that Mr. Banskota is finding a way to make these teas from Nepal available to us. What surprised me, however, about the Silver Yeti is that the white teas – teas that are made up of the buds rather than the leaves – are not usually among my favorites. This tea was a revelation. It has a bright refreshing quality to it with a floral-fruity finish that is so delightful it makes you want to sit back down and brew another cup. Please do. And do it properly. The water temperature and steeping time are given on the packet. With teas this fine you want to take your time….anticipation. Make a sort of mindfulness meditation out of it: bring fresh cold water to 180 degrees F., steep the tea for the recommended 4 minutes and relax while this is happening. And don’t think that is the end of it. You can infuse this tea easily 4 + times and each time you will find different nuances and flavors coming through. Each of them will be gentle, flavorful and aromatic but in different ways and you will be left completely satisfied, relaxed and happy. Thanks, Nishchal Banskota!
